Abstract
Pesticides which are widely used currently in Korea were tested to elucidate the molluscicidal and cercaricidal effects on Parafossarulus manchouricus, the first intermediate host of Clonorchis sinensis, and cercariae of the same trematode. The pesticides applied were as follows: bla-S 2%(1:1,000), polyramcombi 80% (1:800), osocide 50%(1:400) was chosen as a bactericide, diazinon 34%(1:1,000), sevin 50 % (1:800), cartap 50% (1:1,000) as an insecticides, and 2, 4-D 40%(1:1,500), simanex 50%(1:1,000) as a herbicide (% indicate the quantity of the main component, and the numberals denote the practical concentration in field application).
1. Order of the cercaricidal effects at practical concentration which are applied in fields were: osocide, cartap, diazinon, polyramcombi, sevin, blaS, simanex and 2, 4-D. In osocide, cercariae were destroyed within 10 minutes even at the 16 times diluted of the practical concentration, but the cercariae survived till 60 minutes even in the practical concentration of 2, 4-D.
2. Order of the molluscicidal effects at the same condition of above were; cartap, diazinon, sevin, polyramcombi, osocide, bla-S, 2, 4-D, and simanex. In cartap, all snails were destroyed by exposure for 24 hours even at the 1024 times diluted of the practical concentration, but the snails survived in practical concentration of 2,4-D(1:1000) in 48 hours.
