Abstract

|
Rats, guinea pigs and rabbits were used to test the anthelmintic activity of Praziquantel against early stage of C. sinensis infection.
In rats and guinea pigs, the drug was not effective against the immature stage worms, although some prophylactic action was noted in rabbits. However, in rats, higher doses of the drug and the administration of divided doses brought about highly satisfactory results. In particular, no more living worms were found in rats which were treated with 50 mg/kg bid for 5 days.
