Surgical Treatment of Pancreatic Pseudocyst(s)

Abstract
|
|
|
This is clinical analysis of 46 cases of pancreatic pseudocyts from january 1966 till year end of 1991 at Presbyterian Medical Center, Cheonju, Korea.
By definition pancreatic pseudocysts do not have an epitheliallinig', but filled up with pancrea tic secritions which escaped from distruption or obstruction of pancreatic duct system.
@ES Our experience resulted as follows.
@EN 1) Male preponderance in sex distribution as 27 versus 19 among them.
2) Main etiologic factors be listed as pancreatitis, trauma, postoperative pancreatitis,tumor and idiopathic
3) Common clinicalmanifestations are abdominal pain(84.8%), abdominal mass(56.5%), anorexia and vomiting(47.8%) and less common series be listed abdominal distension, fever and chill, dyspepsia and back-pain.
4) Major diagnostic tools are abdominal CT, Ultrasound but physicians group urged for pre-operative ERCP for evaluation of pancreatic dust anomalies.
5) Occurring site was frequent in body and tail and followed head portion as leat frequency.
6) 41 cases handled as surgical drainage procedure and 5 cases only got surgical resection of pancreas pseudocyst. In a surgical drainage group, 36 patients received internal internal drainage which voled for Roux-en-Y cystojejunostomy more than
half
group.
7) Postoperative complications encounterred in 9 cases and as strange, 1 case of postoperative mortality in a patient of Roux-en-Y cystojejunostomy.
