Peritoneoscopic Approach to Unresolved-Intra-abdominal Diseases

Abstract
|
|
|
Illustration of the peritoneoscope, procedure routine for peritoneoscopy and 20 patients with ill-defined abdominal disease were presented. There were the following diagnosis:
4 cases of pancreas head cancer with metastasis to the liver, 3 hepatoma, 2 hepatoma with liver cirrhosis, 1 gallbladder malignancy, 1 common bile duct malignancy, 1 chronic cholecystitis, 1 cholelithiasis with chronic pericholangitis, 1 tuberculous peritonitis, 1 stomach cancer with metastasis to the liver, 1 polycystic kidney and perihepatitis, I adenoma of the kidney, 1 kidney cancer with metastasis to the liver, and 2 normal findings.
Photography and punch biopsy under direct vision were performed.
No significant complication except two cases of subcutaneous- emphysema occurred and desired clinical information was achieved.
We are convinced that peritoneoscopy is a- safe and very useful method for the diagnosis of liver disease and- obscure intra-abdominal diseases.
