Sleep Disorder¢¥s and Sleep Paralysis Among Medical Doctors and Nurses.

Abstract
In order to evaluate sleep disorders, and sleep paralysis in intelligent, relatively normal group of population, Author studied and analyzed the answers of questions about parameters of sleep disorders, it¢¥s frequency, type, causes, age of onset, self-coping methods and sleep paralysis, it¢¥s frequency, age of onset, emotional reaction.
The sleep disorder-data¡¯s were also correlated with sleep paralysis.
The population we studied were medical Doctors N=58 and Nurses (N=92).
The result are as follow;
1. About 91% of the total population reported experience of sleep disorders. In type of sleep disorder, about 73% of the total population reported "Difficult Falling Asleep" which was. the highest in frequency.
2. In the reported causes of sleep disorder, "Environmental change and over stimulation" was the highest in frequency(45%). About one third of Nursing group reported "Emotional Factors" as the causes, but about one-tenth of Doctor-group reported the cause.
About 10% of the total population reported "Change of Biological Rhythm" as the causes.
3. Almost all population reported "Audience of Radio and Music" and Reading" as self-coping method against sleep disorder.
About 14% of doctors and 35% of nursing group reported "Use of sleeping pill" as a self-coping method, which were higher than other reports.
4. In the age of the first experience of sleep disturbance, 65% of the total population reported 20¢¥s.
5. About 51% of the total population reported experience of sleep paralysis which was higher proportion in the group of sleep disordered than in no sleep disordered with significance (P<0.05), and also higher proportion in the Nursing-group than in Doctor-group with significance (P<0.05). 6. In "The age of the first experience of the sleep paralysis", about 60% of the Nursing-group reported 10¢¥s and the same percent of the Doctor-group reported 20¢¥s.
7. In the "Emotional Reaction about sleep paralysis", about 66% of the sleep paralyzed population reported "Anxiety".
