Clinical Study on the Osteomyelitis of the Jaw Bones.

Abstract

|
Clinical analysis with a review of literature was performed on 2 cases of osteomyelitis which occurred in the body, angle and ascending ramous of the mandible, and the following results were obtained. 1. In these cases, there was extensive bony destruction in the body, angle and ascending ramous of the mandible and these lesions were developed from periricoronitis on the lower third molar.
2. As the result of culture test, staphylococcus aurous was a causing micro organism of these Gram (+) osteomyelitis.
3. Saucerization and decortication, each combined with antibiotic therapy, were performed and the prognosis was good without recurrence.
