The study on clinical effects of 7-chloro-1.3-dihydro-3-hydroxy 1-methyl-5-phenyl-2H-1.4-benzodazepine-2-one

Abstract
|
|
|
The authors studied about the effect of 7-chloro-1. 3-dihydro-3-hydroxy-l-methyl-5-phenyl-2H¢¥. -1.4-benzodiazepine-2-one by "a double blind crossover method" in 47 patients who revealed¢¥ various neurotic symptoms. During this study, patients took the drug 30mg divided into threetimes, p.o./day or -placebo, and their symptoms were assesed by psychiatrists with "Global; Symptom Checklist in every week-end. Also, observed the patients in view of side effect orsome other unwanted reactions. The results were as follows:
1) In overall emotional distress, the drug was far more effective than placebo. (F=9.926, df(2.22)P<0.01)
2) The .drug was.. more effective in anxiety, headach, sleep - disturbance, ¢¥palpition and someother somatic manifestation of anxiety.
3) Intensive clinical study and patient¢¥s self-rating were the same result as above.
4) Little side effects were found during this study, such as dizziness, indigestion, diarrhea and fainting but they are not severe and are transient phenomenon. The result suggests that this drug (30mg a day) was effective in neurotic symptoms and very safe in everyday use.
