Clinical Experience of Ca-Hopantenate in the Cerebrovascular Diseases

Abstract
|
|
|
The therapeutic efficacy of Hopa (Ca-Hopantenate; Hopate¢¥) was compared, with that of placebo -in 7 5 patients with cerebrovascular diseases, with special reference to their effects on various mental symptoms, by a preparatory and.respective clinical,trial. 1.5mg Hopa was given a day for 6 weeks.
Subjective symptoms, Neurological findings; psychiatric symptoms and activity of daily living (mainly on reduced mental power and attention) were checked at the 6 week after medicatiop. 1. A considerable improvement in the clinical symptoms was achieved in 70.5 persents of cases with Hopa
with compared with 55.0 persents receiving the placebo.
2. Hopa produced significant improvement in the following factors, such as reduced spontaneity, atten
tion disorders and reduced initiatives in activities of daily living.
3. The side effects were mild and transient, and no abnormal laboratory finding related to test drugs was
