Laparoscopic surgery is associated with reduced surgical trauma and therefore with a less acute phase response and less intense stress endocrine resposne as compared with open surgery. Impairment of the immune system may enhance surgical infections port-site metastasis and sepsis. The objective of this study is to designed to assess the relationship
between the early responses of peripheral white blood cells and subpopulation and the extent of surgical trauma as a part of immune systems.
