Abstract

Although lymphoepit .elial cyst in parotid glands or lymph nodes is often found in neck, the histogeness of this lesion is uncertain. We have experienced a case of multilocular lymphoepithelial cyst in cervical lymph nodes of the right submandibular area in 22 year old male patient. Chief complaint was gradually enlarged mass for 2 years duration. Microscopically, multilocular cysts were lined by keratinizing squamous epithelium with laminating keratin materials in the lumen. Cysts were surrounded by heavy infiltration of lymphocytes with a few germinal centers. A part of the tumor mass showed well formed lymph node structures. Based on the histologic findings of this case and a survey of the few reports in the literatures and the possible histogenesis of this lesion was discussed. Authors considered it is a variant of branchial cyst.
