Abstract
This study was attempted to investigate the effect of chronic oral ethanol ingestion on blood pressure in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR).
@ES The experimental results were summarized as the follows:
@EN In blood pressure analysis, systolic and diastolic pressure of experimental group treated with 15% ethanol were shown the significant decrease compared to control group (Student t-test, p<0.01). At 20 weeks of ethanol ingestion, systolic and
diastolic blood pressure of experimental group were represented as 141.3¡¾6.8mmHg and 101.9¡¾10.5mmHg, while control group was shown as 187.0¡¾9.1mmHg and 128.0¡¾10.5mmHg, respectively.
In serum biochemical analysis, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total cholesterol (TCHO) and triglyceride (TG) were increased significantly compare to those of control group (Student
t-test,
p<0.01), whereas other serum biochemical parameters such as albumin (ALB), total protein (TP), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (ERE) and creatinine kinase (CK) were not shown significant differences. These parameters suggest that ethanol
ingestion
may be associated with affecting in congenitive of hypertension animal model.¡¾
