The Study of spermatogenesis after gamma irradiation in Mongolian gerbil

Abstract
We investigated the effect of the gamma irradiation of 5Gy and 10Gy for mongolian gerbil testis. The animals were sacrified at the 0th and the 7th day after irradiation. As a result of irradiation, the seminiferous tubules of irradiated animals showed arrest of spermatogenesis, desquamation, vaculization of gemunal cells. The extent of damage was increased according to the increasing time after radiation and increasing radiation dose. Most radiosensitive cells on the seminiferous were differentiating spermatogonia and spermatocyte, but already differentiated spermatid cells were less or almost radiosenseticvity.
