The purpose of this study was to examine the subacute toxicity in beagle dogs intramuscularly with CJ-50003 (Japanese Encephalitis Vims Vaccine, JEV). In subacute toxicity test, three groups (18 beagle dogs of both sex) were injected daily different dosages of JEV (developed by Cheil Jedang Corp.), 16 §¶/§¸/day (high dosage group), 4.8 §¶/§¸/day, 1.6 §¶/§¸/day and one group (6 beagle dogs of both sex) were given only diluent (made by Cheil Jedang Corp.) for 4 weeks by intramuscularious route according to the Regulation on Korea Food and Drug Administration (1998.4.29). There were no deaths and clinical findings during the experimental period. Between the group injected JEV and the control group, there were no statistically significant differences in urinalysis tests, hematological tests, serum biochemical values., histopathological examinations. Therefore, the JEV is considered not to have the subacute toxicity in the beagle dogs.
