Krukenberg tumor refers to gastrointestinal cancer metastatasis to the ovaries and its prognosis is uniformly poor. Here, we report a 67-year-old Krukenberg female patient with long term survival after surgical treatment. Nearly 19 months after D2 distal gastrectomy of advanced gastric cancer (T2N1M0), she developed Krukenberg tumors on left ovary without ascites, and total histerectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (TH and BSO) was performed. Fifty seven months after TH and BSO, recurrent gastric cancer was found on gastro-jejunostomy site and completion total gastrectomy was done. Nineteen months after third operation, she is still alive without evidence of recurrence. The present case suggests that resection of Krukenberg tumors without ascites may bring long-term survival.
