Purpose: The performance of XE-2100 (Sysmex Corporation, Kobe, Japan) was compared to SE-9000 (Sysmex Corporation, Kobe, Japan).
Material and Methods: The precision of the XE-2100 was evaluated with SE CHECK-LTM (Sysmex Corporation, Kobe, Japan) for 20 days. The CBC and leukocyte differential count of 100 patients¡¯ samples provided by XE-2100 were compared with those results from the SE-9000.
Results: The CBC parameters (WBC, RBC, hemoglobin and platelet) showed a significant linearity with correlation coefficient greater than 0.99. Within-run precision of WBC, Hb and platelet ranged from 1.0%-2.6%, 0.3%-0.7%, 1.3%-3.1%, respectively. The CBC results showed good correlation (r2> 0.99) between the results from SE-9000. The correlations with SE-9000 were good for neutrophils (r2: 0.96), lymphocytes (r2: 0.98), eosinophils (r2: 0.978) and monocytes (r2: 0.87), and it was poor for basophils (r2: 0.43).
Conclusion: These results demonstrate that the XE-2100 has a good linearity, an acceptable reproducibility, a minimal carryover, and a comparable performance with Sysmex SE-9000.
