Abstract

|
Phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C-¥ã1 is activated by phosphorylation of tyrosine residues by tyrosine kinase. The enzyme is also phosphorylated by protein kinase C. In order to elucidate the regulation mechanism of the enzyme action by protein kinase C the phosphorylation sites of phospholipase C-¥ã1 by the kinase have been identified. The identified sites were Ser^(1227) in addition to Ser1248 that have already been found. Phosphorylation patterns of phospholipase C-¥ã1 by protein kinase C were all identical in vitro and in vivo. The patterns were also identical although the sources of phospholipase C-¥ã1 were differenthuman, rat, and bovine.
