Abstract

|
Effects of uniconazole and GA©ý on the salt stress of pothos (Epipremnum aureum) and golden pothos (E. aureum ¢¥Lime¢¥) were tested. Number of defoliated leaves increased with uniconazole than either with or without GA©ý in the saline condition. It, however, became less than with or without GA©ý in the later days. NaCl reduced the cell diameter of young leaf, whereas the degree of reduction was less with uniconazole than either with or without GA©ý. Water potential in the saline condition increased with uniconazole. Uniconazole increased photosynthetic rate of pothos, but GA©ý reduced that of golden pothos. Transpiration of pothos increased with uniconazole. Uniconazole reduced ethylene production of two cultivars examined.
