Abstract
This study was investigated to determine the effect of growth regulators on secondary flowering of Phalaenopsis hybrid after cutting of inflorescence. Secondary inflorescence emergence and flowering rate increased with growth regulator treatments compared to control, and especially 0.25% benzyl adenine resulted in the highest flowering rates. On the other hand, BA+GA©ý application decreased the flowering rates. Higher BA concentrations increased inflorescence number but reduced number of florets on one inflorescence. The abortion of secondary inflorescence and the formation of aerial shoots were apt to be increased at higher BA concentration. Flower bud abortion was lower in growth regulator applications.
