Abstract

|
Evaluation of diastolic function is essential in the management of patients with symptoms of heart failure. This can be performed routinely by echocardiography which provides numerous means to characterize diastolic filling pattern. In turn, the comprehensive echocardiographic evaluation of diastolic function will provide diagnostic, prognostic, and hopefully therapeutic insight in a large number of patients we encounter in our clinical practice.
