Pharmacological Management of Neuralgic Pain
Lee Tae-Gyu

Abstract
Neuralgic pain is a very disabling condition which can hinder both physical and psychological aspects of recovery from various illnesses. The variable causes and more diverse manifestations of neuralgic pain renders it to be intractable. Thus, an accurate understanding of the neuralgic condition and broad knowledge of management methods is crucial to manage such pain in the clinical setting. The definition, types, and causes of neuralgic pain is reviewed and an overview of pharmacologic agents used in the management of neuralgic pain is presented. The pharmacolgic effects, indications and side effects of selected agents are also discussed.
