Abstract

|
Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis and the major cause of disability in elderly person. Traditionally, the management of OA has been limited to symptom control and salvage procedures. pain control, rehabilitation, and surgery have been the mainstay of therapy for this type of arthritis. Recently, there have been considerable advances in the medical treatment of OA. This review describes new aspects of the pathophysiology of OA and introduces management methods of the disease.
