Office Management of Low Back Pain (Diagnosis and Treatment)
Park Gi-Young

Abstract
Low back pain is the leading cause of occupational disability and the most common cause of missed workdays. As the population ages and our modern lives become more sedentary, this situation is unlikely to change. Most people will experience an episode of serious low back pain, but most cases resolve with minimal intervention. The main value of a history and physical examination is to determine which patients should be referred for imaging and interventions. The risk factors for progression to chronic low back pain are predominantly occupational and psychosocial. Most treatment for chronic low back pain have a limited effect and afford transient benefits. Therefore, a individual, comprehensive, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation that includes a regular back exercise, teaching proper position, psychotherapy, injections, and medications etc can be needed for chronic low back pain.
