Abstract

Cervical stenosis with myelopathy and dynamic instability is challenging for surgeons when determining a surgical method that allows for adequate decompression with maximal preservation of normal structures, even followed by posterior stabilization. We present a case of cervical canal stenosis with hypertrophied ligamentum flavum and instability that was treated successfully with a unilateral approach and bilateral decompression, as well as lateral mass screws and rod fixation, with an excellent clinical outcome through safe and effective procedures.
