Abstract

|
Cinedefecography is the gold standard for evaluation of functional disorder of the pelvic floor and constipation. However, it also requires specific radiological facilities and has dis-advantages including radiation exposure and inability to show adjacent anatomical structures. Three-dimensional echodefecography could overcome these limitations. It is minimally invasive and well tolerable, without radiation exposure, and shows the relation-ship of adjacent anatomical structures by obtaining a dynamic longitudinal view of the anal canal.
