Abstract
Laryngeal ultrasound (LUS) was introduced for evaluation of vocal cords before and after thyroid and parathyroid surgery. Laryngoscopy is the gold standard for evaluation of vocal cords, however it is an invasive procedure causing discomfort and gag reflexes in patients. I suggest here a novel and non-invasive LUS for screening vocal cord palsy, which can replace laryngoscopic examination before and after thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and current evidence regarding this novel technique was discussed.
