Abstract

|
The impact of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) on surgical strategies is widespread in terms of workforce, surgical prioritisation, changes to perioperative practice due to risk of transmission and ways of working alongside the impact on surgical education and training. This article provides recommended clinical pathways for patients with a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis is requiring surgical care. All hospitals should prepare specific protocols and workforce training as part of the effort to face the current COVID-19 pandemic.
