Sepsis and Wound Infection after Emergency Cesarean Delivery in Pregnant Women with Preterm Premature Rupture of Membrane
Kim Hee-Yon

Abstract
Intrauterine infection is a common complication of preterm premature rupture of membrane (PPROM), as the membranes
usually form a barrier to ascending infection. This condition is a well-known risk factor for significant maternal adverse outcomes including postpartum hemorrhage, unplanned hysterectomy, blood transfusion, surgical site infection, sepsis, and intensive care unit admission. We report the treatment experience of sepsis and surgical site infection after emergency cesarean delivery in patient with PPROM along with a brief review of the literatures.
