Evaluation of the Patient's Satisfaction after Gastric Cancer Surgery applied to the Critical Pathway

Abstract
The aim of this study is to evaluate satisfaction with critical pathway (CP) in nursing gastric cancer patients. From January toJune 2008, non critical pathway group (NCPG, n=28) is used by general doctor¡¯s order. However, from July to December2008, critical pathway group (CPG, n=25) received the CP schedule applied by the PA on the pre operative day. The collecteddata were analyzed by chi-square, and student t-test using the SPSS/Win 12.0 program. Patient¡¯s satisfaction increasedwith understanding of disease and treatment process, explanation of related study and treatment, education regarding activitystatus, and degree of confidence in doctor. Patient satisfaction was higher in the CPG than in the NCPG.
