Abstract

Stress-induced cardiomyopathy (SCM) is characterized by transient left ventricular (LV) contractile abnormalities typicallyinvolving the apex and mid-segment. It is related to triggers such as intense emotional or physical stresses and more commonin postmenopausal women. Since the first report of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy was issued in 1991, several variantforms of SCM have been reported. Although right ventricular (RV) involvement is not uncommon, isolated right ventricularinvolvement is rare. We describe atypical SCM with isolated RV involvement in a patient with acute calculous cholecystitis.
