A Case of Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome with Acute Glaucoma

Abstract

|
Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is caused by Hanta virus, which typically present in five stages, includingfebrile phase, hypotensive phase, oliguric phase, diuretic phase, convalescent phase. HFRS complicated with acute glaucomais rare. A 31-year-old male who presented with fever, hematuria, ocular pain, and decreased visual acuity was admitted toour hospital. Ophthamic examination performed at admission, showed increased ocular pressure (27/25 mmHg) and a diagnosisof acute closed angle glaucoma was made. HFRS was diagnosed by clinical manifestation and laboratory finding(IFA).He received eye drops(dorazolamide hydrochloride, timolol meleate, brimonidine tartrate) and ocular pressure, visual acuity,and ocular pain improved. We report on a patient with case of acute glaucoma with HFRS.
