Abstract

|
Clostridium perfringens (C. perfringens , C. welchii ) is common bacteria in humans and animal¡¯s surrounding environment and gastrointestinal tract. Meanwhile, it is reported that postoperative infections are rare and about 0.1% of patients undergoing surgery will develop an infective complication, especially in pediatric age. In this paper, authors report a case of bowel perforation after appendectomy in a 12-year-old female and acute kidney injury after cholecystectomy in a 13-year-old male, which was thought by beta toxin and epsilon toxin of C. perfringens, respectively.
