Abstract
Pneumothorax rarely occurs in pregnancy, but if it occurs, it can cause acute respiratory failure and hypoxia in both mother and fetus, which can result a fatal effect. The most common cause of spontaneous pneumothorax in pregnancy is known as rupture of pulmonary subpleural blebs due to increased oxygen demand in pregnancy. We report a case of emergency cesarean section for a 31-year-old woman with spontaneous pneumothorax in the 39+2 weeks of pregnancy.
