Abstract
Purpose: To compare the accuracy of equations for determining intraocular lens power during flanged intrascleral intraocular lens fixation.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 31 eyes of 31 patients requiring secondary intraocular lens scleral fixation due to dislocation of the existing intraocular lens, for which they underwent the Yamane technique and were followed for more than 3 months. Refraction prediction errors and absolute errors of SRK/T, Hoffer-Q, and Holladay 1 formulas were compared at 1 and 3 months, postoperatively.

Results: Refraction prediction error results for SRK/T, Hoffer-Q, and Holladay 1 formulas were -0.18 ¡¾ 1.02 diopters (D), -0.09 ¡¾ 1.10 D, and 0.21 ¡¾ 1.19 D at 3 months postoperatively, respectively, and were not statistically significant (p = 0.328). The absolute error results for SRK/T, Hoffer-Q, and Holladay 1 formulas were 0.82 ¡¾ 0.62 D, 0.84 ¡¾ 0.70 D, and 0.90 ¡¾ 0.79 D, respectively, at 3 months postoperatively, and were not statistically significant (p = 0.904).

Conclusions: There was no statistical significance in refraction prediction error and absolute error of the SRK/T, Hoffer-Q, and Holladay 1 formulas during flanged intrascleral intraocular lens fixation, but the tendency to myopia should be considered.
