Abstract
The purpose of the present objective is to elucidate the folklore use of the plant, Mirabilis jalapa and Mirabilis japonica as potential anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive. This present study is emphasised on the combined effect of the hydroalcoholic leaf extract as anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive. Hydroalcoholic extract of the leaves was prepared by repetitive maceration. The anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated by using carrageenan induced paw edema models in Wistar albino rats while the antinociceptive effect was evaluated using acetic acid induced writhing model and Tail immersion method in Swiss albino mice. The anti-inflammatory activity was found to be dose dependent in carrageenan-induced paw edema model. The extract has shown significant (P?
