Abstract
Objective: This study is to evaluate therapeutic effects of gait training with rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS) on kinematic gait patterns as well as temporospatial data in traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Methods: The participant walked 10 m at comfortable walking speed. Temporospatial data and kinematic parameters of gait were analyzed before and after gait training with RAS. During 4 weeks, 3 times a week, RAS was provided using a combination of a metronome beat set to the individual¡¯s cadence and rhythmic cueing from a live keyboard, played by music therapists.

Results: Gait analysis revealed that gait training with RAS improved cadence, walking speed, step length, and stride length. In addition, excessive pelvic anterior tilt and pelvic obliquity during a gait cycle was ameliorated after gait training with RAS.

Conclusions: Gait training with RAS resulted in an improvement in the temporospatial data as well as kinematic pattern of pelvic movement in TBI.
