Abstract

Transient ischemic attack (TIA) is usually manifested as a unilateral neurologic deficit, but there have been few reposts of bilateral neurologic deficits as a presenting symptom in TIA. A 33-yearold man presented with sudden onset of bilateral arm weakness after smoking which lasted for 5-10 minutes and recurred three times. Brain magnetic resonance angiography demonstrates critical stenosis in bilateral middle cerebral artery. We speculated that TIA can be manifested as bilateral arm weakness.
