Abstract
Purpose : To evaluate the effects of a bimatoprost/timolol fixed combination (BTFC) on intraocular pressure (IOP) and anterior ocular parameters in glaucoma.

Methods : We enrolled 21 glaucoma patients in this prospective clinical study. IOP was measured every 2 hours from 9:00 to 17:00 at baseline and 6 months later. Specular microscope value, corneal curvature, pupil diameter, anterior chamber depth, central cornea thickness were obtained. Adverse events were assessed by patient interview and by slit lamp examination.

Results : Mean diurnal IOP decreased 34.9% in open-angle glaucoma (OAG) patients and 27.6% in normal-tension glaucoma (NTG) patients. For anterior ocular parameters such as specular microscope value, corneal curvature, pupil diameter, anterior chamber depth, central cornea thickness at baseline and 6 months after BTFC treatment, there were no significant differences between the baseline and 6 momths values. The most frequently occurring adverse event with BTFC treatment was conjunctival hyperemia, which was found in 19.1% (n = 4).

Conclusions : BTFC provided a significant reduction in IOP from baseline without changing any anterior ocular parameters in OAG and NTG patients.
