Study on the Effect of Extraction Method of Jo Gyeong San on the Sexual Cycle of Rat

Abstract
|
|
|
Dried water extract of Jo Gyeong San preparation (SI), dried water extract of individual ingredients of the above medication (S2) and dried ethanol extract of the individual ingredients (S3) were orally administered to female rats and the sexual cycle was observed in 5 stages by smearing veginal secretion. The followings are results obtained.
1. In the present experiment the sexual cycle of female rats in control group was found to be 3.92 days on the average.
2. When female rats were given with SI the sexualcycle´became to be 4.1 days dri
the average and it was significantly longer than that of control group.
3. In case of the treatment with S2 the sexual cycle approached to that of control
group, it was observed to be 3.13 days.
4. For the group of female rats fed with c3 the sexual cycle was similar to that of control group.
View of the above findings it can be concluded that the mode extraction of Jo Gyeong San do influence the sexual cycle of female rats.
