Study on the Influence of Extraction Methods of Jo Gyeong Jong Og Tang on the Overian Changes in Rabbit

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to determine the effect of Jo Gyeong Jong Og Tang on the ovarian growth promotion and ovulation the dried water extract of the medication, dried water or ethananol extract of individual ingredients of this medication (Si, S2 and S3 in the same order) were orally administered to rabbit and the ovarian growth together with ovulation were compared.
Followings are results obtained.
1. In the case of S1 administration a number of matured follicles was ´observable
which was confirmed microscopically(++ + +) and the ovulation was confirmed.
2. A lesser number of matured follicles was observable in the case of S2 adminis-
tration than in the case of S1 which was microscopically observed(++) and the
ovulation was confirmed.
3. In the case of S3 administration the least number of matured follicles was obse-
rved and microscopically confirmed (+) but the ovulation was not confirmed.
In view of the above findings it is concluded that, as far as the method of extraction of the medication is concerned, aquous extraction of prepared Jo Gyeong Jong Og Tang is the most effective followed by S2 preparation (both -statistically significant) and by S3 which was found to be nonsignificant.
