Study on the Influence of Extraction Methods of Dae Wha Jung Eum on the Duodenal Motility of Rabbit

Abstract

|
Water extract of Dae Wha Jung Eum preparation, water or ethanol extract of individual ingredients of this medication were experimentally studied for their effect on the duodenal motility of rabbit and the following results were obtained.
1. The increase in the duodenal motility of rabbit was noted to be 94. 2 percent when the water extract of Dae Wha Jung Eum preparation was added.
2. The mixture of water extract of individual ingredients of above medication increased the duodenal motility of rabbit by 70.6%.
3. In the case f ethanol extract preparation the increase in this motility was registered to be 79. 9%.
In view of the above findings it was concluded that the aquous extract of the above medication as a whole was most effective in promoting duodenal motility of rabbit and the difference between the method of preparation was statistically significant.
