Abstract
In order to determine the effect of the decoction powder of antlers from elk deer (A group), rein deer (B group), red deer (C group) and formosa deer (D group) on the recovery rate of erythrocytic picture in rabbit induced anemia by the administrattion of phenylhydrazine, the powder disolved in a saline solution was orally administered daily for 10days ie., from the 4th the 14th day ofter the phenylhydrazine injection and erythrocyte count, hemoglobin in blood and volume of packed red cell were kinetically deternined. The results obtainsd in the work were summerlized as follows: 1. The lowest values were observed at the 4th day of phenylhydrazine treatment
while the highest were found between the 12th and 14th day which subsequently
tended to return to the pretreatment level.
2 . Compared to the values of the 4th day the recovery rate expressed in perecentage of erythrocyte count A group was found to be most effective followed by groups
C, B and D in decreasing order while the same order for the hemoglobin in blood was that of A, C, D and B, in the case of volume of packed red cell, A,B, C and D in the same order.
3. Group A was found to be most effective for the recovery when viewed in a
omprehensive manner followed by group C, B and D in decreasing order.
