Ostreae Testa and Exsiccated Ostrea Testa usually administered in many clinical cases as antihypertensive .and arteriosclerosis remedies. In present paper the effect of cold liquid extract and hot liquid extract of Ostr-eae Testa and exsiccated Ostrea Testa on the normal blood pressure-of the rabb- its and thiobarbituric acid(TBA) value of carbontetrachloride (CCI.) induced rat liver homogenate were measured the results of the experiments were as follows :
1. The result from the effect of the cold liquid extract and hot liquid extract of exsiccated Ostreae Testa on the normal blood pressure of the rabbit have fallen 23.69.3, 28.014.2 and 26.68.3mmHg each from 1g, 2g and 3g of the cold liquid extract, 21.6 5.5 , 24.0 12. 5 and 36. 0 + 20. 5mmHg each from 1g, 2g and 3g of the hot liquid extract. 2. The resulf from the effect of cold liquid extract and hot liquid extract of Ostreae Testa on the normal blood pressure of the rabbit have fallen 16.36.9, 19 .0 5.6 and 16. 5 4. 6mmHg each from 1g, 2g and 3g of the cold liquid extract, 21.6 3. 1, 25.3 3.7 and 22.0 4.2mmHg each from lg, 2g and 3g of the hot liquid extract . The hot liquid extract is better than cold liquid extract. 3. Being observed the effect of rat liver TBA Value of exsiccated Ostrea Testa and Ostreae Testa, the CC14 + Saline group as contrast with normal group have significantly increased; CCI.+ Sample group as contrast with CC1.+ Saline, group decreased. The difference between the average values of CC1.+ Saline group and CC11-1- Sample group of the result from t- test was shown high ignificance.
