I have obtained good results from lots of patients, who has suffered from phychoneurosis system with insomnia at a sickbed, by taking the medicine decoction of Kwi-Bi-Tang, so I have studied on the influence that,the medical decoction of Kwi-Bi-Tang affects sleeping hours and sedation through the ´experimental survery of animal as follows ;
I have got following conculsion by the experimental results for sedation through climbing test and method of acetic acid and for extension of sleeping hours through the method of thiopental sodium of rat and mouse because the medicine decoction of Kwi-Bi-Tang is prescribed to rat and mouse.
1. The extension of sleeping hours by thiopental sodium should be showed obviously and clearly, and double of original decoction was prescribed, and I found that t-Test should come to the result of voluntariness P<0. 01.
2. On the influence upon sedation of climbing test, this prescription is good for the effect of sedation, but its voluntariness should be showed to P<0. 05.
3. On the influence upon the sedation by the method of acetic acid, the original decoction was prescribed by dilution, so the sedation should be decreased. But according to the result of t-t est, the higher voluntariness of P<0.001 should be showed.
4. If seeing the general results as alone mentioned, we see that Kwi-Bi-Tang is applied for practical use in the world of psychoneurosis system at the clinic of Oriental Medicine, and I also obtained lots of supporting data through these experiments.
