An Experimental Study on the Effect of Gelatina Nigra and Artemisiae Vulgaris Extract Administration to Serum Prothrombin Time in Mouse

Abstract
Gelatin Nigra and Artemisiae Vulgaris were known as hemostatics in oriental medicine. The author had an attempt to study the hemostatic effect of Gelatina N-igra and Artemisiae Vulgaris extract administration orally by measuring the serum prothrombin time in mouse and obtained following results.
1. The prothrombin time was found to be the mean value of 8.80 0.20sec in the Gelatina Nigra extract administration group and 11. 400. 18sec. in control group. I revealed significant values.
2. With the administration of scorched Artemisiae Vul&aris extract, serum prothrombin time showed the mean value of 9.68 0. 17sec and it showed faster proth - rombin time. than the ordinary group of 11.40 _0. 18 sec.
3. At the condition of hypoprothrombinemia induced by the warfarin administration,
Gelatina Nigra administration group showed faster serum prothrombin time than
the control group with the mean value of 19.60 0.64 sec of ter 12 hours and 10
.88 0.64 sec after 36 hours of Gelatina Nigra administration.
9. Scorched Amtemisiae Vulgaris administration to the hypoprothrombinemia induced by warfarin made the results faster pr rambin time showed 9.87 0.60 sec a - fter 36 hours and 9.030.41 sec after 48 Roars.
5. Both Gelatine Nigra and Artemisiae Vulgaris didn¢¥t show any anti- plasmin action.
