iver damage was produced by feeding of othanol in the normal albino rats per os, and changes of thiobarbituric acid(TBA) value of liver homogenates, content of serum albumin, total protein, triglyceride and activities of serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase(GOT) were determined after administration of Kamidaegeumeumja decoction(DE), Kamidaegeumeumja dry extract powder(DDE), mixture of Kamidaegeumeumja individual herb dry extract powder (DIDEM) and Kamidaegeumeumja individual herb dry extract powder(DIDEi 9) Obtained some results as follow: 1. Liver TBA value against three type of medicines in which administered DE, DDE and DIDEM respectively was remarkably decreased, and in each drug such as Aurantii nobilis Pericarpium, Pharbitidis Semen and Puerariae Radix was relatively showed lower value than others. 2. Increasing tendency of the serum albumin content was indicated in three kind of medicines,
respectively and in case of individual drug Puerariae Radix, Alpiniae Fructus, Machin Cortex and Atractylis Rhizoma was especially obtained high values. 3. Content of serum total protein was increased significantly in each medicament and in single herb Machili Cortex, Pharbitidis Semen, Alpiniae Fructus and Puerariae Radix was presented high value to compare with controL 4. Activities of SGOT was slightly decreased in three type of medicines and Galangae Rhizoma, Puerariae Radix and Glycyrrhizae Radix was also decreased significantly. S. Level of serum triglyceride in these different type of medicines was found slightly elimination and its value was reduced in order of Puerariae Radix, Aurantii nobilis Pericarpium, Atractylis Rhizoma and Machili Cortex. 6. As shown above results, there are not significant among the different type of medicines comparing all values each other. So these results can be used as good reference for improved administration method orally.
