In order to study the effectiveness of Joockrhyuk-Tang and Kamijoockrhyuk-Tang on the hypertension, arteriosclerosis and diabetes mellitus, animal experimentations have been done, using house rabbits and mice. Blood pressure, liver TBA level, lipid contents (total cholesterol, triglyceride, phospholipid, (.1-lipoprotein) and changes of blood sugar level in alloxan induced mice were checked and following results have been obtained. .
1. The lowering effects of blood pressure appeared prominent in accordance with administration of increased amount of the recipes.
2. Among the five recipes of Joockrhyuk-Tang, Joockrhyuk-Tang plus Siegesbeckiae Herba, Joockrhyuk-Tang plus Siegesbeckiae Herba and Mori Ramulus, Joockrhyuk-Tang plus Siegesbeckiae Herba, Mori Ramulus and Sophorae Herba, Joockrhyuk-Tang plus Siegesbeckiae Herba, Mori Ramulus, Sophorae Flos and Rhynchophyllae spina the effectiveness of blood pressure showed as follows: the most effective one was the recipe of Joockrhyuk-Tang plus Siegesbeckiae Herba, Mori Ramulus, Sophorae Flos and Rhynchophyllae spina. Next one was the recipe of Joockrhyuk-Tang plus Siegesbeckiae Herba and Mori Ramulus.
3. The effect on the liver TBA level of mice showed remarkably decreased in Joockrhyuk-Tang, and Kamijoockrhyuk-Tang groups than control groups that effectiveness of the recipes have been recognized. The most effective one was noted in Joockrhyuk-Tang with four elements added group.
4. On the elevated hyperlipemia induced by cholesterol olive oil diet in rabbits, the effect of Joockrhyuk-Tang administration showed decreasing tendencies in levels of total serum cholesterol, triglyceride, phospholipid and (lipoprotein level than control groups.
5.. Both Joockrhyunk-Tang and Disinfected Joockrhyuk-Tang showed lowering effects on alloxan induced high blood sugar levels of mice. There was no difference in effectiveness between the two recipes.
