An Experimental Study On the Effect of Kyoaesamultang Extract Administration to the serum Prothrombin Time in Mice

Abstract
In order to observe the hemostatic effect of Kyoaesamultang, which has been readily available for clinical control of uterine bleeding in Oriental Medicine experimental studies were performed by administration of Kyoaesamultang extract solution to mice and then measurement of the prothrombin times.
The following results were obtained.
1. The prothrombin time in a experimental group of Kyoaesamultang administration showed the mean value of 9.5 0.4 sec in sample I group, and the mean value of 9.2 0.3 sec in sample I¢¥group that it was considered to be significant.
2. The Prothrombin time in an experimental group of Kyoaesamultang added Gelatine Nigra 3.75g and Artemisiae Vulgaris 3.75g administration showed the mean value of 8.1 0.5 sec in sample II group, and that the mean value of 9.0 0.2 sec in sample II¢¥ group, that it was considered to be high significant.
3. In other experimental group of hypoprothrombinemia induced by warfarin injection, the prothrombin time values appeared also significant in 24hrs, 36hrs, and 48hrs of sample II group, and significant in 36hrs, 48hrs of smaple II¢¥ group, respectively.
