Abstract

|
In order to observe the hemostatic effect of Ecliptae herba, which has been readily available for clinical control of uterine bleeding in Oriental med nine, experimental studies were performed by administration of Ecliptae herba extract solution to. mice and then measurement of the prothrombin times. The following results were obtained.
1. The prothrombin time in an experimental group of Ecliptae herba administration showed the mean value of 8.27 0.15 that it was considered to be significant.
2. In other experimental group of hypoprothrombinemia induced by warfaria administration, the prothrombin time values appeared also significant in 24 hrs, 36 hrs, and 48 hrs, respectively.
3. There was no significant antiplasmin activity noted.
