In order to study the effect of Sam Wha San Decoction on the diuresis in mice, the method by "Bong-Ha" was administrated.
In order to study the effect of Sam Wha San Decoction on renal failure in rat induced .by HgQ, the concentration of urea nitrogen, creatinine, uric acid and electrolytes in the serum of rats was measured.
The following results have been´obtained:
1. In diuretic action by "Bong-Ha" method, sample group revealed the effect as increasing after 1 hour. The diuretic action after 3-4 hours was noted in sample groups.
2. The concentration of urea nitrogen, creatinine and uric acid in the serum of rats were significantly elevated by HgC12 poisoning. However, sample group decreased the concentration of urea nitrogen, creatinine and uric acid in the serum of HgCl2 poisoned rat after 2-3 days .
3. The potassium level was increased in Hgcl2 poisoned rats, but the sodium level was decreased. In sodium level in sodium sample II group revealed significant change, but sample I group did not reveal any significant change. According to above results, it is concluded that Sam Wha San decoction showed the diuretic effect and it seemed to recover renal failure induced HgCl2 poisoning.
