Park Jong-Hyeong

Lee Kyung-Sub
Abstract
In order to determine the effect of Keopoongsogmyeong-Tang on lipid-metabolism, total cholesterol, triglyceride, phospholipid, i3-lipoprotein in serum of cholesterol-pretreated rabbits were checked. Following results were obtained.
1. Total cholesterol in serum increased by cholesterol administration was decreased rapidly in all sample group, but there is no significant difference in sample III group. 2. Triglyceride in serum was decreased more rapidly in all sample groups compared with the control group. 3. Phospholipid in serum dropped nearly to normal level as that of triglyceride.
4. 13-lipoprotein in serum was slightly and rapidly decreased in all sample groups, but they didn¢¥t show any significant value except 30th day of sample I group. 5. According to the above experimental results, Keopoongsogm-yeong-Tang is
assumed to have a curative effect against arteriosclerosis and decoction was sligh-tly superior to the extracted powder.
